Yea, here Rickles delights in making fun of him.

Did you see the song he performed that night on the show? 'Back Home Again in Indiana.' Also on Jerry's 1974 solo album, released a few months after this Carson video.

Have you ever seen an actor in a movie who looked as out of place as Campbell did in 'True Grit?' His participation in that movie, or for that matter the acting profession, is proof anything's possible.

No. I went back and checked them out though.
Here is Glenn at 13 minutes

His Sinatra story is funny.

Here is Jerry at 1 hour :09 with Vassar Clements and Grisman too. I never had that one on my copy

I think I heard Hoagie Carmichael sing that in a movie with George Raft

Crap. I forgot it was a bonus track on the re-release, and not on the original issue.
Campbell rushes through it like the place was on fire and he needed to finish before he could leave. I dig his leisure suit though.

Obviously you haven't seen George Strait. Or John Denver for that matter. :)

If you're suggesting they have movie credits to their name, oh man, I jus don't wanna know...

Where have you been? Humungo hits. And sequels!

In George Strait's case it's almost like his face has too much Botox or something. He runs the emotional gamut from a to b is how they used to say it.

"He'll be great as long as he doesn't have to, you know,...act."
I take strength from Strait's self assessment of the proposal: ‘What do I have to gain? I sell a lot of albums. I’ve got a great life. What is this going to do for me? And I don’t know how to act.'
He deserves credit at least for not being delusional.

As for John Denver in 'Oh God,' ... I revere Carl Reiner so I'm just going to move forward in my life holding close the idea that he had nothing to do with the casting.
